Fossil fuel gave the World convenience energy and boosted development of civilization faster. However, the World knows that Fossil fuel is going depleted, and it also helped Global Warming which is very serious problem. As one of non oil producing nations, Cambodia is very concerned about crisis that will rise after depletion of oil, so Cambodia strongly agrees to sufficient usage of renewable energy for oil depletion, prevention of chaos following to depletion, and global warming problem following to usage of fossil fuel.
We believe Cambodia has several options that Cambodia can take to prepare renewable energy. With tropical climate that we have, we can have great hydro energy that can be generated by dam. Amount of rain we have will provide us incredible amount of energy. Solar energy which is floating these days with its harmlessness is not going to be one that we will have here since we have a lot of rain. Biomass energy which uses decomposing excrement of animals will be probable option because it is the easiest way to produce energy which is not fossil fuel.
We all know that these new renewable energies can be very innocuous, but it is risky to use it for now because it is not fully developed and studied, and amount of money that is used to build one facility is astronomical. It is obvious that one of nations could actually fail to stand up with the preparation. Cambodia has not enough capital to build hydro energy plant and research for biomass energy. There are a lot of nations that are not in condition for the facility for renewable energy. This might lead growing gap between the rich nations and poor nations. Thus, Cambodia believes that United Nation should make a special organization to prepare the capital for nations that need money for renewable energy.
