There have been many questions about how the UNSC fits into World Crisis. Hopefully this thread will clear up some answers.
The Security Council is, by definition, a reactionary body that will respond to the events unfolding in the other rooms. Its charge is to bring peace and economic stability to the world. While it is important that you act in your country's best interests, your main reason for sitting on the Council is to bring a peaceful resolve to the Crisis. Practically this will mean a number of things:
1. The UNSC will begin by electing a President. The President will become the spokesperson of the group, and has the ability to jump to the top of any speakers list in the other rooms in order to give a presentation.
2. The UNSC will then set their very initial agenda to address the first move in either the Middle East or South China Sea. This agenda will evolve as events unfold, but will give the UNSC focus to begin with.
3. The UNSC will broadcast both room moves on its two screens.
4. The UNSC will be very informal, with moderated and unmoderated caucus being the norm.
5. Few action sheets should come from the UNSC. Individual action flows from the SCS and ME. The UNSC is the place for collective action and requests.
